Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has admitted that winger Christian Pulisic has been unlucky under him at the club.
He advised the American winger and others who not being selected for games at the moment to be patient and not lose confidence.
There were rumours during the week that the US international was departing west London for either Liverpool or Manchester United due to lack of game time.
Asked how Pulisic has reacted to being asked to be patient for his chance at Chelsea, Tuchel replied: “When you sign and play for Chelsea this is the part of the job description as a player to be patient and impatient at the same time.
“Impatient because all of my players are competitors all of them wants to play every single minute and this is what they all show every day, the hunger and desire and this is what Christian shows.
“At the same time when you are not selected from the coach you have to also be patient, to not lose confidence, to keep on going and to be ready any time because it can happen any time.
“In the beginning, he was a bit unlucky because we know how much of an impact he can have when he comes from the bench and we use this power and strength from him.”
