Liverpool have congratulated Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard, after he guided the team to win this season’s Scottish Premiership title on Sunday.
Gerrard’s men won the Scottish Premiership title for the first time since 2011 after Celtic were held to a goalless draw at Dundee United on Sunday afternoon.
Rangers were relegated to Scotland’s fourth tier back in 2012 after the financial collapse but have rebuilt steadily and have now denied Celtic a record-breaking 10th consecutive top-flight crown.
The Gers defeated St Mirren 3-0 on Saturday at Ibrox, which brought the title in sight.
Reacting, Liverpool, in a tweet via its Twitter handle, complimented their former player, Gerrard, and his team.
Liverpool tweeted: “Congratulations from all of us at #LFC to Steven Gerrard and his team on winning the Scottish Premier League title.”
Rangers will tackle Slavia Prague in the Europa League Round of 16 clash next Thursday.
